Coq Au Vin with Spanish Wine

(5)
"January is the perfect time for cozy classics like Coq au Vin. I upgraded this French dish this New Year by pairing it with a vibrant and spice-forward red wine from Spain’s Ribera del Duero wine region and a bright, refreshing white wine from the Rueda region. To kick-off the new year, I’ve partnered with @Riberaruedawine & @thefeedfeed to expand on my go-to wines this winter. To my delicious surprise, the wine-braised chicken pairs wonderfully with the sophisticated Ribera del Duero red wine as well as with the crisp Verdejo wine from the Rueda wine region. The vineyards in these two appellations located in Castilla y Leon have a long winemaking history that goes back more than 1,000 years, and the quality shows! Looking for other pairings for the New Year? Proteins like chicken, veggies or seafood work great with white wines from Rueda, while pork or beef are delightful with red wines from Ribera del Duero.
