ingredients

  • 1 (17.3 ounce) package thawed puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup sugar, divided
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, chopped

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat the oven to 425°F, and spray a 12-cup muffin tin generously with cooking spray. Set aside.

  • Step 2

Sprinkle half of the sugar onto a clean workspace. Lay the puff pastry on top, and sprinkle the remaining sugar evenly over the top. Gently roll the sugar into the pastry to get it to stick.

  • Step 3

Cut the pastry into 2 inch squares, which should yield 12 squares.

  • Step 4

Place each square into a muffin cup, press it into the cup. Fill each square with a few pieces of dark chocolate, and then pinch the corners of the pastry together in the center. This doesn't have to be perfect- they will burst open a bit as they bake!

  • Step 5

Sprinkle the tops with additional sugar, and bake until the pastries are a deep golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Cool and enjoy!
