"EARTH DAY 🌎 Did you know that half of the rivers and streams in the US can’t support marine life due to pollution from the meat and dairy industries? 😭 It’s a sobering fact and one I hope inspires action! 🌱💔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ For many people the idea of being vegan sounds extreme. And I get it, I really do! Doing things outside of societal norms IS inherently extreme (by that same society’s perspective) ⠀⠀⠀⠀ But many societal norms are inherently shitty and it’s up to us to change them to create a better world and brighter future for the coming generations. So even if you think could never go vegan entirely or you have one food you just can’t live without, try mostly plant-based at first, or cut out one thing at a time, eat meat once a week instead of once a day (or more!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Billions of mostly plant-based eaters will create change faster than a few million hard core vegans. I love the work @briankateman is doing at the @reducetarian foundation. If you’re not vegan, can you commit to reducing your animal consumption? ⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you already are, can you commit to reducing your plastic waste or buying more local food?
