For Dutch Baby
ingredients
- 5 eggs
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Add all dry and wet ingredients, except the butter, to a blender Blend on high speed until smooth Set aside
Step 2
Over medium heat, melt 4 TBSP of butter over medium heat Once melted, pour the batter into the hot skillet Transfer carefully to the pre-heated oven and bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffy
Step 3
While dutch baby is baking, melt butter with maple syrup in a large sauce pan over medium heat Add cinnamon, rum (optional) and vanilla and stir to combine Simmer for one minute Add sliced bananas and cook 2-3 minutes until caramelized Pour banana mixture over hot dutch baby Dust with confectioners sugar or top with freshly whipped cream if desired
