ingredients

  • 3 cups stale sourdough bread, cubed 1 inch
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2

Toss cubed bread, olive oil, salt, and garlic powder until bread is fully and evenly coated.

  • Step 3

Spread bread evenly over a 9 x 13 inch baking sheet and bake until croutons are golden brown, stirring halfway through, about 30 minutes. This can vary based on the staleness of your bread so keep an eye on them.

  • Step 4

Remove pan from oven and sprinkle parmesan evenly over croutons, stirring to coat. Return pan to oven and bake until parmesan is lightly brown, another 5 or so minutes.

  • Step 5

Cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to a week.
