Fireside Horchata Cocktail
2 oz homemade horchata (recipe here)
1 oz @altostequila Reposado
1/2 oz mezcal
1/2 oz cinnamon syrup (homemade recipe below)
2 dashes Black Walnut Bitters
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake well, then strain into a short glass with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
7 to 8 small cinnamon sticks (3-inch)
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
Start by crushing cinnamon sticks in a plastic zip top bag. Shake cinnamon shards into a medium saucepan with water and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Reduce heat to low, simmer for 5 mins, then cover and let rest for at least 4 hours (better overnight!). Strain well and store in the fridge.
