  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • Garlic powder
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 8 Land O Lakes® Deli American Slices, divided
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onions
  • Pickle slices

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 400°F and place bacon in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy. When done, transfer to a paper towel lined plate and set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a medium bowl, season your ground beef with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Knead together until incorporated, and then make eight 3oz. burger balls. Flatten each ball into a patty and set aside. On a clean cutting board, chop two slices of bacon (1/2 piece bacon per burger). Take four of your Land O’Lakes® Deli American Slices and break each one into quarters. Place four quarters of the American cheese slices in the center of four of the patties. Sprinkle bacon pieces evenly over the cheese. Top each cheese and bacon covered half with a plain patty, and pinch the edges together until sealed.

  • Step 3

    Heat your grill to medium-high and oil your grill grate. Place burgers on the grill and cook for about 5 minutes. Gently flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes. When you have 1-2 minutes left on your cook time, add a slice of cheese to each burger. Remove from the grill, loosely tent with aluminum foil and set aside for a few minutes.

  • Step 4

    Brush melted butter on your burger buns and toast them for a couple of minutes until golden brown. Place a burger on the bottom half of each bun. Top with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle slices (or whatever combination is your favorite). Bite in and enjoy all that ooey, gooey Land O’Lakes® Deli American!
