"It’s been a week since I discovered my tiny innocuous little mole was actually cancer. ☆ A lot of emotions still swirl around that knowledge, and all of the other crazy life-happenings that have been beating me down this past week. ☆ If you follow my Stories, you know what I’m talking about. ☆ Today has been deliberately slow. It’s gloomy, cool, humid. So I did something I haven’t done in forever: I took a walk. ☆ It was nice, just wandering around without any sort of purpose, just doing something different without plans, needs, or a timeline. ☆ I got home and set about the task of collecting my over abundant heirloom cherry tomatoes. Picking them oh so carefully, because they’re small, delicate, and perfect. Tiny reminders of how life blooms into things so extraordinary. Sustaining. Nourishing. ☆ I’m filled with a strange sort of melancholy, which, I’m not unfamiliar with melancholy, but this particular brand feels so odd. I know I’m going to be OK, I’m so damn certain of it in a way I’m usually not. So why so sad? ☆ Maybe I’m mourning that tragically hidden past, because as shitty as it was, there was a stupid familiar stability in that level of constant chaos. ☆ Now life is different. Not just because I’ve been diagnosed with melanoma, but because a part of my life has been cut away as well, sooner than expected, and it’s scary. ☆ It’s lonely. Confusing. Infuriating. ☆ I’ll survive though. I always do. ☆ We’ll see where this all takes me, since I’m kind of rambling aimlessly now. But this is me.
