Cheese Board With Homemade Seeded Crackers

(10)
"I vividly remember growing up watching an @inagarten episode where she announced she kept cracker dough in her freezer- just in case anyone stopped by she could always through together a cheeseboard. At that very moment, I wanted to become Ina - how glamorous was that? Although I can honestly say I don’t keep cracker dough in my freezer but if I were as fabulous as Ina, this would be the cracker recipe. It is as easy as it is tasty. "

Cracker & Cheese Board notes:
First you can add whatever type of topping you want on the crackers, I am doing sesame seeds and sea salt

Also, my cheese selection is all about having a soft, semi-soft and hard cheese assortment but you could also do goat, sheep or cow options instead. But the most important rule with cheese boards is to serve something you love and want to eat.

Lastly, you can make the crackers by hand if you don’t have a food processor.

Homemade Crackers
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 Tbs. unsalted butter
1 Tbs. cream
1/4 cup water
1 egg mixed with 1 Tbs. cream
favorite topping such as sesame seeds

Pre-heat oven to 300°F. Line a sheet tray with parchment.
In a food processor pulse to combine the flour, baking soda, salt and pepper. Add the butter and pulse until butter is incorporated, about 10 seconds. Add cream and 2 Tbs. water and pulse until the dough comes together, adding the remaining water if needed.
Knead the dough then roll out until about 1/8” thick. Brush with egg wash then sprinkle with topping. Cut into desired shape and bake until golden brown, about 45 minutes. Let cool then serve on a cheese board.
