ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 cups spinach, chopped
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 14 ounce package puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • black sesame seeds, optional

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 350F.

  • Step 2

    Melt the butter in a frying pan.

  • Step 3

    Add washed spinach, salt, and pepper to taste (a couple of pinches). Saute for 5 min, until the leaves are wilted and the excess water evaporated.

  • Step 4

    Add all ingredients along with sautéed spinach to the mixing bowl and stir to combine.

  • Step 5

    On a flour-dusted surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 12 equal squares.

  • Step 6

    Take a cupcake tin and put a square of dough into each cell. Fill with the spinach and cheese mixture.

  • Step 7

    Optionally, you can brush the edges of the dough with some heavy cream and sprinkle it with black sesame seeds.

  • Step 8

    Bake for 30 minutes.
