ingredients
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 sliced ` shallot
- 2 sliced ` green onions
- 1 head butter lettuce, separated
- 1 pound steak, cubed
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 wedges lime
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
Method
Step 1
Prepare your ingredients: mince the garlic, slice the shallot and green onions. Peel and clean your lettuce. Cut your steak into cubes and transfer it into a bowl.
Step 2
Make your marinade: add 2 oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar and garlic into the bowl with the steak. Mix well, cover and let it sit in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
Step 3
While your meat is marinating, make your dipping sauce on the side. In a new small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper and juice from your lime wedges.
Step 4
After marinating your steak, heat a large pan on the stove and add cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, add in your sliced shallots and allow to cook until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel. Next, add the meat to the same pan and allow to sear. When meat has a golden brown sear on all sides, add in the butter and melt. Remove the meat.
Step 5
Let the meat rest for 5-10 minutes, then place several cubes of meat into the individual lettuce wraps. Top the meat with the crispy shallots and green onions. Enjoy!
