ingredients

  • 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-rising flour (or 1 cup all-purpose flour + 1½ teaspoons baking powder + ¼ teaspoon salt)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (defrosted if frozen)
  • 1 large egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything bagel seasoning

Method

  • Step 1

Combine 1 cup of non-fat Greek yogurt and 1 cup of self-rising flour (or use the all-purpose flour and baking powder method). Stir until well combined, then knead until a dough ball forms. The dough will be sticky, but that’s normal.

  • Step 2

Gently fold in ½ cup of blueberries.

  • Step 3

Lightly flour a work surface and knead the dough for a couple more minutes. Divide the dough into 4 parts and roll each piece into a ball. Poke a hole in the center of each ball to form a bagel shape.

  • Step 4

Brush the top of each bagel with a beaten egg for a golden, shiny finish. Add any desired toppings, such as sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything bagel seasoning.

  • Step 5

Preheat an air fryer to 350°F. Air fry the bagels for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Adjust the cooking time if necessary, as different air fryers may vary in cooking time.

  • Step 6

Once golden brown, allow the bagels to cool before slicing. Enjoy with your favorite spread!
