ingredients
- 1/2 cup cup of freshly squeezed orange juice ( 2 oranges)
- zest from one orange
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon fresh minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon orange marmalade (Optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon sambal or red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 2 pounds chicken breast cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seed oil
- 1 tablespoon grape seed oil
- Salt and pepper to taste on chicken
Method
Step 1
In a mixing bowl wisk all your orange sauce ingredients together and set aside. Orange juice, zest, soy sauce, honey, rice wine vinegar, garlic, ginger, orange marmalade, sambal, and corn starch.
Step 2
Add grape seed oil and toasted sesame seed oil to saute pan on medium high heat. Add chicken and brown and cook thoroughly through around 6 to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of your chicken.
Step 3
Remove chicken from pan and drain all the leftover oil from the pan. Add the orange sauce and chicken back to the pan on medium heat. The sauce should thicken up in 2 to 3 minutes then remove from heat.
Step 4
Serve with your favorite rice or just add steamed sugar snaps to the orange chicken for a meal.
