@iquitsugar day 18 // still commited, though i had a difficult time at the start of the week again- as visions of doughnuts and cake danced in my head. lover made his special high-protein chicken salad (with @fage_uk greek yoghurt), but left out the raisins just for me. ???? so here’s my post-workout lunch! feeling strong. #wholesomeheart
@iquitsugar day 4 // i’ve had a little headache all day, but i’d say today was also the first day i wasn’t feeling hungry constantly. meanwhile, this breakfast bowl was so delicious, i wanted to wear it. especially that @hurlyburlyfoods slaw. i’d probably get arrested. breakfast | leftover roasted broccoli. 2 scrambled eggs. panfried halloumi. @hurlyburlyfoods jalapeño + oregano raw slaw from @hswholefoodsuk. a sprinkling of dill. #wholesomeheart
@iquitsugar day 3 // i have to keep telling myself that i’ve completed this before, and it felt amazing... eventually. i need an exciting distraction, therefore, i’m finally brewing my own kombucha. picked up my SCOBY from a fellow yogi last night- no, those aren’t pickled onions. that’s my new “mother.” also, it’s day 3 of chugging a cup of spirulina water. i mean pond water. i mean, spirulina water. #theSchvachLife
@iquitsugar day 37 // I love that in the UK, today is called Pancake Day (instead of Fat Tuesday 🙄). So I made these fructose-free, gluten-free buckwheat pancakes, and added my low-fructose friends raspberry and kiwi to the situation. Oh- and that’s hazelnut @grenadeofficial spread up top. High protein, low carb, and fructose free. Certainly a treat... and frickin delicious! I didn’t think I could enjoy pancakes without maple syrup! #theSchvachLife
@iquitsugar day 33 // Really loving these fat balls, inspired by @leefromamerica- but adjusted the recipe to fit my current @iquitsugar lifestyle. And, I don’t know about you, but @coyo_uk piled high on top feels like I’m dreaming. And yes- drizzle with peanut/almond butter for extra joy. Been keeping them in my freezer and just choosing 1 or 2 lucky ones as needed! #wholesomeheart

6 days until i quit sugar/fructose. main meals won’t be the struggle. they never are. breakfast | 2 eggs, leftover roasted brussel sprouts, grated cheddar, a dollop of guac
i quit sugar (specifically fructose) for 8 weeks in 2015, and it was absolutely eye-opening and lifestyle-enhancing. i’m not into fad diets, but i am into mindfully fueling my body. those 8 weeks were both excruciating (as i was a sugar ADDICT), and therapeutic. is that even possible? the habits i formed during those 8 weeks carried on far beyond that timeframe. being in scotland this year, i think i’ve consumed more sugar than i ever have- and i can feel it taking a toll on me again... my energy, my sleep, my skin, my mood. so i’m ready to do this again. 8 january, i’m breaking up with fructose for 8 weeks, and recalibrating my body. and this time, jason says he wants to participate as well. ? #theSchvachLife
