ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cups softened butter
- 1/3 cups sugar
- 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 cups cooking cream
- 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
Method
Step 1
In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients - flour, baking soda and salt Set it aside.
Step 2
Cream the butter and sugars until the sugars look more or less dissolved and the mixture looks creamy enough. Add the vanilla extract and cooking cream and mix well.
Step 3
Mix in the dry ingredients (except chocolate chips) slowly, using gentle finger movements. While making the dough, the gentler the hand movements to combine the dry and the wet ingredients, the better the cookie will be.
Step 4
Add the chocolate chips and mix well. Place this soft dough in a pan and cover it. Refrigerate this for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Line a baking pan with parchment paper or oil the tray and set it aside. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F or 190 degrees C or gas mark 5.
Step 6
Take some dough with your hands and place them on the tray. This may look untidy, but don't worry!! Make sure there is enough gap between the cookies as they will spread out when they bake.
Step 7
Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes. Take them out when you are able to lift them off the tray and they look brown from underneath. (That's the easiest way to check... they may look underdone, but it you want them to be gooey, that's your mark!)
Step 8
Let the cookies cool off before stacking them up in a box!
