Brown Butter & Pistachio Doughnuts
Et voila! Brown Butter and Pistachio Doughnuts two ways. Half the batch got an Orange glaze, the other half a Brown Butter one. Both super tasty.<br><br> For the doughnuts mix:<br> 2c of flour, 1.5 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp cardamom, 2/3c sugar, and 1c shelled/finely chopped pistachios in a medium size bowl. <br><br> In another bowl whisk together:<br> 2 large eggs, 1c buttermilk, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract and 4 tbsp browned butter. <br> Add wet ingredient to dry ones and combine well.<br> Use spoon to dollop batter in lightly greased doughnut pan and bake for ~10 minutes at 350 degrees. Once cooled spread glaze onto each doughnut and drizzle with pistachios. <br><br>For the glaze:<br> 1c powdered sugar, 1 tbsp browned butter, 2 tbsp milk and 1 tsp pure vanilla extract OR 1c powdered sugar, 2 tbsp freshly squeezed oj.
