Savoury spinach waffles

"I love me a sweet waffle like the next person, although savoury waffles are just as great - particularly when they contain loads of spinach and gooey cheddar cheese. This recipe could be vegan if you don't use eggs and use a substitute cheese"

ingredients

  • 2 @clarence_court eggs (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of self raising flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • Cheddar cheese
  • 3-4 spring onions, chopped
  • A bunch of spinach leaves, washed
  • 3 tsp of unsalted butter,melted
  • 1/2 cup of @minorfigures oat milk

Method

  • Step 1

    In a mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Add oat milk and eggs. Followed by cheddar cheese, spinach, spring onion, melted butter. Mix with a spatula until while combined.

  • Step 2

    To make the waffles, spray butter/oil into the waffle maker and spread half of the batter into the waffle iron and spread to the edges and allow to cook. It will take roughly about 7 to 9 mins depending on the waffle iron.

  • Step 3

    Serve the waffles with a sprinkle of chilli flakes, top with cheddar cheese and also a helping of @enconaofficial hot sauce.
