#brummielunches today was shiro, an Ethiopian stew made with chickpea flour and a spice called berbere (which you can get in @sainsburys, it adds lots of heat and flavour!) and creamed yellow hominy (bought quite cheaply on @amazon) with veggie sausages from @cauldronfoods which are just like the real thing and watercress and I’m pleased to report it was a big success, unlike the disastrous Sri Lankan curry I made t’other week 😫 The recipes are from the @roosterharlem cookbook which I heartily recommend for fusion soul food with lots of great recommendations for music too 💃🏽🕺🏿But if you use hominy like I did rather than the suggested grits you need a lot less liquid.
