Recipe Intro From themonticarlo
Make your own yogurt from the last bits of your old yogurt! My favorite brand is pretty expensive and this is what I do to get that same flavor and texture for much cheaper! I strain mine after I make it, so it’s thick like #greekyogurt , and Danger says it tastes like ice cream! It doesn’t last more than a couple of days at our house, but it should be good up to a week in an airtight container.

ingredients
- 4 cups whole or 2% milk
- 4 tablespoons plain yogurt with live active cultures
Method
Step 1
Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Let it boil for a few minutes, then dump out the water.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 200°F, then turn it off. Turn on the oven light to maintain a warm environment.
Step 3
In the sanitized pot, heat the milk over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches 200°F. Remove from heat and let it cool to 115°F, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Stir in the plain yogurt with live active cultures. Make sure it's well incorporated into the milk.
Step 5
Cover the pot with a lid and wrap it in a towel. Place it in the preheated oven with the light on for at least 4 hours. For a tangier flavor, leave it for a few more hours.
Step 6
For thicker yogurt, strain the mixture through cheesecloth for a few hours in the refrigerator.
Step 7
Enjoy your homemade yogurt! It should last up to a week in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
