ingredients

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoo vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoo baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoo salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup mini m&ms
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoo cornstarch

Method

  • Step 1

Cream together your butter and sugars until fluffy and smooth. Add in your vanilla and egg and continue to beat until just combined.

  • Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together your dry ingredients (baking soda, salt, flour) then slowly add them to your wet ingredients.

  • Step 3

Mix together until everything is just combined. Don't overmix! Your dough should be smooth and soft. Fold in your m&m's.

  • Step 4

Chill your dough for about 1 hour. Preheat oven to 325°F and line 2 cookie sheets with silicone baking mats. Scoop teaspoon sized balls of dough onto your baking mats placing them about a half inch apart.

  • Step 5

Bake for 6-7 minutes. Watch these cookies carefully so you don't burn them! They may look slightly underbaked after 7 minutes. This is okay! Residual heat will continue to bake them slightly after they come out of the oven. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a couple minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.
