- 6 apples, peeled and cut into large wedges, divided
- 1 pie crust
- 1 tablespoon sugar
In a large skillet on medium heat, add half of apples and one tablespoon of water. Cover and cook them for 15 minutes, or until tender. When the pieces are cooked, mix in a food processor or with a hand blender until pureed.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Place the pie crust in the pie pan. Prick with a fork and add the apple compote to the bottom. Then, in an even layer, add remaining apple slices. Sprinkle top with a tablespoon of sugar. Place in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until crust is golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool. Slice and enjoy.
