Recipe Intro From sunkissedkitch
This easy Air Fryer Beef Satay recipe is packed with bold flavors and makes for a perfect gluten-free, soy-free appetizer or main dish. The key to its incredible taste is a simple 4-ingredient marinade featuring San-J No Soy Tamari, which infuses the beef with a savory, umami-rich flavor while keeping it tender. Paired with a creamy almond butter dipping sauce (or opt for peanut butter for a classic twist), this dish is perfect for weeknights or entertaining.

ingredients
Beef Satay:
- 1 pound grass-fed beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1/4 cup San-J No Soy Tamari
- 1 tablespoon red curry paste
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons fresh ginger, finely grated
ingredients
Satay Dipping Sauce (optional):
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon San-J No Soy Tamari
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/4 cup water (adjust for preferred thickness)
- 1 to 3 tablespoons paleo sriracha sauce
Method
Step 1
In a large container or mixing bowl, whisk together the San-J No Soy Tamari, red curry paste, sesame oil, and ginger to create the marinade.
Step 2
Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, tossing to ensure every piece is well-coated. Cover the container and refrigerate for 1–3 hours to allow the flavors to develop.
Step 3
Prepare the satay dipping sauce. Combine almond butter, sesame oil, lime juice, San-J No Soy Tamari, maple syrup, water, and sriracha in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate until ready to serve. The sauce will thicken as it sits, so add a little water to adjust consistency if needed.
Step 4
Preheat an air fryer to 420°F for at least 5 minutes.
Step 5
Thread the marinated beef strips onto 5-inch skewers, ensuring they lie flat but with some space between the pieces for even cooking.
Step 6
Place the skewers in the air fryer basket, ensuring there’s space between each one for proper air circulation. Air fry in batches for about 5 minutes per batch or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
Step 7
Garnish with sesame seeds, fresh cilantro, and lime wedges, if desired. Serve warm with the dipping sauce on the side.
