ingredients
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/4 onion, cut into thin slices
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 clove of garlic, minced
- salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- dried oregano, to taste
- 1 slice of Vevan Ched-Melts
- 1 slice of Vevan P'Jack-Melts
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 slices of bread
- 2 slices of jarred truffle carpaccio, optional
- additional toppings of your choice
Method
Step 1
Heat olive oil in a small skillet over low heat. Add onions and sugar and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown and caramelized, about 30 minutes.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine ground beef, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano. Form a burger patty.
Step 3
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty to your desired level of doneness, about 3 minutes per side for medium-rare. During the last few minutes of cooking, top with Vevan Ched-Melts and Vevan P'Jack-Melts and allow to melt. Remove patty from the skillet and keep warm. Wipe pan and return to medium-low heat.
Step 4
Butter both sides of bread. Toast in skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
Step 5
Place patty between slices of bread, top with caramelized onions, truffle carpaccio (if using), or your favorite toppings. Slice in half and enjoy!
