Patty Melt

(2)
"Who’s ready to get cheesy with @vevan.foods and @thefeedfeed? They have an awesome line of cheese slices called Ched-Melts and P'Jack-Melts that I used in this patty melt recipe! I feel the struggle of trying to find vegan cheese that has the same melty texture as dairy cheese, but look no further! @vevan.foods cheese is a great option for those who love cheese but can’t eat the normal animal-based dairy product. Vevan cheese is plant-based, dairy-free, and lactose-free! You can find this cheese at your local Costco! . . . . . . . . . #vevancheese #feedfeed #vegan #vegancheese #cheese #costco #recipe #homerecipe #eats #lactosefree #dairyfree #pattymelt #feedfeed #foodstagram #lafoodie #foodiesofinstagram #meltycheese #foodphotography"

ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 onion, cut into thin slices
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 clove of garlic, minced
  • salt, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • dried oregano, to taste
  • 1 slice of Vevan Ched-Melts
  • 1 slice of Vevan P'Jack-Melts
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of jarred truffle carpaccio, optional
  • additional toppings of your choice

Method

  • Step 1

Heat olive oil in a small skillet over low heat. Add onions and sugar and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown and caramelized, about 30 minutes.

  • Step 2

In a bowl, combine ground beef, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano. Form a burger patty.

  • Step 3

Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty to your desired level of doneness, about 3 minutes per side for medium-rare. During the last few minutes of cooking, top with Vevan Ched-Melts and Vevan P'Jack-Melts and allow to melt. Remove patty from the skillet and keep warm. Wipe pan and return to medium-low heat.

  • Step 4

Butter both sides of bread. Toast in skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.

  • Step 5

Place patty between slices of bread, top with caramelized onions, truffle carpaccio (if using), or your favorite toppings. Slice in half and enjoy!
