- 5 cups flour
Method
Step 1
Proof yeast with water and sugar. Combine with flour and knead. Add flour until you have a soft dough that pulls away from the edge of the bowl.
Step 2
Rise until doubled then divide in half. Roll each half into a rectangle about 5"x18" and roll up. Tuck the ends under.
Step 3
Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and rise another 30 minutes. Bake at 415*F for 20 minutes or until deep golden brown and hollow sounding when knocked on on the underside with the end of a wooden spoon. At minute 15, coat with egg wash.
