  • 1 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, dark or light
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups pure pumpkin
  • 1/8 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 stick salted butter, softened
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoo vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablesp whole milk

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray your 10 inch bread pan with baking spray and set aside.

  • Step 2

Mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk to combine and set aside.

  • Step 3

Place the softened butter into the stand mixer or if using a hand mixer into a large bowl and beat with a medium speed. Add both white and brown sugars and combine on medium speed for about a minute.

  • Step 4

Add in the egg one at a time, and on low mix together until incorporated.

  • Step 5

Mix in the pumpkin and sour cream, and blend together on low until mixed well.

  • Step 6

Now in two batches, slowly mix in the flour. We have our batter ready to go!

  • Step 7

Pour, pumpkin batter into greased bread pan.

  • Step 8

    Bake for 60 minutes.

  • Step 9

Allow to cool on a wire rack before attempting to remove for at least 1 hour.

  • Step 10

Make the frosting- In a stand mixer, mix together the butter and cream cheese on medium low speed.

  • Step 11

Add in the vanilla extract. Reduce speed to low and slowly add in the powdered sugar.

  • Step 12

Pour in the milk a little at a time until you get the desired consistency. If you like your icing really thick, you may have leftover milk. That's ok.

  • Step 13

Spread cream cheese icing over pumpkin bread. Sprinkle a little bit of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon over the top of the icing. Slice into wide slices and enjoy.
