ingredients
- avocado oil
- 1 20 ounce can jackfruit in brine, drained
- 1 package Siete Spicy Taco Seasoning
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 package Siete Grain Free Cassava Tortillas
- 1/2 cup dairy free sour cream
- 1/2 lime, juiced
- 1 tbsp Siete Traditional Hot Sauce
- 1/4 head iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced
ingredients
to garnish
- pickled red onions, thinly sliced
- chopped cilantro
- diced tomato
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350ºF/180ºC.
Step 2
Add 1 tablespoon of avocado oil to a skillet over medium heat.
Step 3
Add the drained jackfruit. Cook jackfruit for about 5 minutes, and pull pieces apart to resemble pulled meat.
Step 4
Add spicy taco seasoning along with ⅓ cup water and stir to combine.
Step 5
Cook for 1-2 mins and remove from heat.
Step 6
Place about ¼ cup of seasoned shredded jackfruit on each cassava tortilla and roll as tight as possible.
Step 7
Secure with toothpicks if needed. Place each flauta on a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake for 15 mins, turning each flauta half way to assure even browning.
Step 8
Combine dairy free sour cream with hot sauce and lime juice.
Step 9
Top crispy flautas with thinly sliced iceberg lettuce, drizzle spicy crema, and garnish with pickled onions, diced tomato, and freshly chopped cilantro.
