ingredients
To serve
- 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp Siete Habanero Hot Sauce
- 1/4 cup mixed black and white sesame seeds
- 5 Siete Grain Free Cassava Flour Tortillas
- avocado oil, for frying
ingredients
to serve
- finely shredded cabbage
- guacamole
- mexican cream
- Siete Habanero Hot Sauce
Method
Step 1
In a food processor, add shrimp, garlic, sea salt, and Siete Habanero Hot Sauce and pulse until the mixture forms a thick, sticky paste.
Step 2
Spread a thin layer of shrimp paste evenly over 5 tortillas (not thicker than 1/8 inches).
Step 3
Top with an even layer of sesame seeds, pressing lightly to ensure the seeds don’t fall off during frying.
Step 4
Heat a layer of avocado oil in a large cast-iron skillet (large enough to fit at least one 6-inch tortilla).
Step 5
Carefully add the tortilla to the hot oil, shrimp side down. Flip after about 1 minute, and fry the other side for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 6
Remove the fried tostada with tongs and place onto a cooling rack or paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Step 7
Once you have finished frying all the tostadas, garnish with cabbage, guacamole, a drizzle of Mexican crema and another drizzle of Siete Habanero Hot Sauce.
