  • 2 tablespoons minced shallot
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 chopped green onions (save tops for garnish)
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 ounces room temperature cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup divided shredded asiago (white cheddar, or parmesan will work too)
  • 8 ounces lump crab meat (cooked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in a 9" cast iron skillet on medium heat.

  • Step 2

Add shallot, and cook to soften.

  • Step 3

Add garlic, and green onion. Followed by herbs and spices.

  • Step 4

Add cream cheese, stir to melt.

  • Step 5

Reduce heat to low, add sour cream and mayonnaise. Stir to combine.

  • Step 6

    Stir in lemon juice.

  • Step 7

Add half of the asiago, and stir to just combine. It doesn't have to totally melt in!

  • Step 8

Fold in crab, (check for shells!) and top with remaining cheese. Sprinkle with parsley.

  • Step 9

Bake for 10-15 minutes, and broil for the last few if needed to brown cheese.

  • Step 10

Serve with crackers, chips, veggies anything you like to dip!
