Lox and creamcheese dumplings

ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten free flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cups baked salmon
  • 1/4 red onion, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning (plus more)
  • 1 pinch capers
  • 1 bunch chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups oil for frying

Method

  • Step 1

    Make the filling by mixing together cream cheese, flaked salmon, spices, chives, onion, and lemon juice. Set in fridge until ready to use.

  • Step 2

    Make the dough by adding flour and a pinch of salt to a bowl. Create a well in the center. Whisk together egg, egg white, and 2tbs. water. Add to well, and mix to combine. (add more flour as needed to prevent stickiness!)

  • Step 3

    Flour your board, and rolling pin (a LOT, and each time you roll a new piece) Roll 1" pieces of dough into small circles, about 1/8" thin.

  • Step 4

    Add about 1tsp. of filling to each circle, fold over and use water on your finger tip to seal together.

  • Step 5

    Fry in oil until crispy (about 5 mintues) Remove from oil, and dust with additional everything bagel seasoning.
