ingredients
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 8 ounces shrimp (cleaned and deveined)
- salt to taste
- 2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 large chopped tomato
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 bay leaf (crushed into pieces)
Method
Step 1
Coat shrimp with salt and turmeric.
Step 2
Heat oil in a pan. Fry the shrimp till it is pink. This should take not more than a minute or so. Remove shrimp with a slotted spoon.
Step 3
In the remaining oil, add bay leaf along with ginger and garlic paste. Cook for a couple of minutes. Add turmeric and chopped tomato. Cook on medium heat till the oil floats. Add salt, sugar and peas.
Step 4
Add 1 cup of warm water and let the mixture come to a boil. Add shrimp.
Step 5
Cook in low heat for 4-5 minutes till desired consistency. Turn the heat off. Add ghee. Serve hot.
