Homemade Applesauce

(0)
"I had a bag of apples in the fridge that needed to be used up, so I thought it would be nice to make some applesauce! It requires only a few ingredients and is very easy to make. You can adjust the amount of sweetener to suit your taste or just exclude it completely."

ingredients

  • 7 cups peeled and cubed Apples
  • 3/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/3 cup granulated Sugar

Method

  • Step 1

Place your peeled & cubed apples and water in a large pot. Cook on high, stirring and mashing consistently until the mixture is mostly smooth with only small grainy lumps throughout. You may need to add a bit more water as the apples continue to cook down so that the mixture doesn’t become too thick.

  • Step 2

Stir in the cinnamon and sugar/sweetener (if desired) and continue to cook it for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

  • Step 3

If you’d like a smoother apple sauce, you can use an immersion blender or food processor to refine the mixture afterwards.

  • Step 4

Allow your applesauce to cool a bit before serving and/or storing in an air-tight container in the fridge.
