ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Method

  • Step 1

Cream together softened butter and both of the sugars. Add the eggs, oil, vanilla extract, and unsweetened cocoa powder. Stir until just combined.

  • Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir this dry mixture into the wet one until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  • Step 3

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to chill.

  • Step 4

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a large baking sheet. Using about two tablespoons for each cookie, shape the dough into 16 slightly flattened balls. Place them on your baking sheet, about three inches apart, and bake for 8 minutes. Cool on a metal baking rack and enjoy!
