ingredients
- 1 9 inch frozen deep dish pie crust
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tea bags chai tea
- 2 eggs
- 1 15 ounce can can pumpkin purée
- 1 12 ounce can evaporated milk
Method
Step 1
Place a baking sheet in your oven and preheat it to 425º F.
Step 2
Whisk together eggs in a medium bowl. Add pumpkin purée, evaporated milk, sugar, and salt. Whisk again to combine.
Step 3
Pour the contents of the two chai tea bags into the pumpkin mixture and whisk until smooth.
Step 4
Carefully pour the mixture into the pie shell. Carefully remove preheated baking sheet from the oven. Gently place pie on the baking sheet and return it to the oven.
Step 5
Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350ºF and continue to bake for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few crumbs on it.
Step 6
Transfer pie to a wire rack to cool. Decorate the top with baked pie crust shapes or candied nuts as desired. Serve with whipped cream and enjoy.
