Caramel Crunch Banana Bread

(0)
"I recently perfected my caramel crunch banana bread. :) This updated recipe (and photo!) features a fluffier loaf topped with a crunchy streusel and finished with a caramel drizzle. It’s banana bread with a bit more “pizazz” and the few extra steps are soo worth it!"

ingredients

Bread Ingredients

  • 2 very ripe, mashed bananas
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

ingredients

Topping Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter, cold and cut into cubes
  • 1/3 cup caramel sauce

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 4x8 in loaf pan.

  • Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir in the baking soda, cinnamon, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.

  • Step 3

Add in the flour and stir until just combined. Do not over mix! A few small lumps in the batter are okay. Evenly spread this mixture into your prepared loaf pan.

  • Step 4

Make the streusel topping by stirring together the flour and sugar in a small bowl. Add the cold cubed butter and use a fork to cut it into the dry ingredients to create small crumbs. Sprinkle this evenly on top of the banana bread batter.

  • Step 5

Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out mostly clean. After baking, set the bread on a wire rack to cool before drizzling the caramel sauce on top. Slice and enjoy!
