A Note From Susan Spungen

Salads are the easiest and best way to take advantage of what's in the market and express your creativity. No recipe needed, really- the unique combinations are what will make each new salad special. The cut of each vegetable counts; this is where you can get creative with your knife skills, and you if you don't have a ceramic Japanese mandoline, you should get one, so you can make delicate shaved vegetables like fennel, carrots, radishes, parmesan, etc. Always go for an exciting mashup of colors, textures, temperatures, and flavors.
