ingredients

  • 1 bag of frozen tator tots
  • Shredded yellow cheddar, as needed
  • Cooked bacon, chopped, as needed for topping
  • Chives or green onion, chopped for topping
  • Sour cream, for topping

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 425°F and grease a muffin tray with olive oil spray.

  • Step 2

    Arrange 5-6 frozen tater tots in each muffin tin.

  • Step 3

    Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Remove from the oven and, using a small cup or muddler, press the tater tots down to create a cup shape.

  • Step 5

    Sprinkle shredded yellow cheddar on top of each cup.

  • Step 6

    Bake for an additional 13-15 minutes or until the tots are golden and the cheese is melted.

  • Step 7

    Once out of the oven, allow the the tator tot cups to cool for a few minutes.

  • Step 8

    Use a butter knife to carefully remove the tot cups from the muffin tin.

  • Step 9

    Garnish with chopped bacon and chives or green onions.

  • Step 10

    Serve with a dollop of sour cream.
