“Apple” Chayote Braid

ingredients

  • 3 each chayote, peeled, cored, & diced
  • 1 teasopon pumpkin pie spice
  • 15 drops oooflavors green apple flavoring
  • 1 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cups wondrose sugar replacer
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon xanthan gum
  • 8 ounce your favorite flatbread dough

Method

  • Step 1

    Roll dough out into an oval. Cut symmetrical lines parallel from one another down the side of the dough. A quick google search of “Apple Braid” will show you how.

  • Step 2

    Place filling down the center of the dough. “Braid” dough back and forth across the filling.

  • Step 3

    Beat an egg + 1T. water together and egg wash the top of the bread. Bake at 350F. for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
