You will want to make this Mexican-Style Strawberry Lemonade all summer long. It's refreshing, tart, and sweet. 

Want more recipes with strawberries? We especially love them pureéd with mint and lemon and turned into ice pops, or scattered over salads with sharp cheeses.

ingredients

  • 5 lemons, cut into 1/8ths with skin on
  • 12 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 15 strawberries, stems removed
  • Yerba buena, for garnish

Method

  • Step 1

    Add the sliced lemons and 6 cups of water to a blender. Blend for 5 seconds exactly. Overblending will result in a bitter lemonade.

  • Step 2

    Strain the liquid through a sieve into a large pitcher. Discard the chopped rind, or preserve it for another recipe.

  • Step 3

    Add the remaining 6 cups of water the the blender, along with the sugar. Blend for 1 minute to dissolve. Once dissolved, add in the strawberries. Pulse the blender 3-4 times.

  • Step 4

    Combine the lemon & strawberry mixtures.

  • Step 5

    Serve over crushed ice with a yerba buena leaf to garnish.
