ingredients

BBQ sauce:

  • 4 garlic cloves, finely diced
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup Red Gold Folds of Honor Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

ingredients

Wings:

  • 2 pounds chicken wing sections
  • 3 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ancho chile powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Method

Make the BBQ Sauce:

  • Step 1

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine garlic, brown sugar, Red Gold Folds of Honor Ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, hot honey, and vinegar.

  • Step 2

Stir and simmer for 5–7 minutes, until slightly thickened.

  • Step 3

Remove from heat and let cool (it will continue to thicken as it sits).

Prep the Wings:

  • Step 1

Preheat a grill to medium heat (about 375–400°F).

  • Step 2

Pat wings dry. In a large bowl, drizzle with avocado oil and Dijon mustard.

  • Step 3

Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, ancho chile powder, and cayenne if using. Toss to coat.

Grill the Wings:

  • Step 1

Place wings over indirect heat. Grill for 20–25 minutes, flipping every 4–5 minutes for even cooking.

  • Step 2

Once cooked through (internal temp 165°F), move wings over direct heat. Grill 1–2 minutes per side for charred edges.

  • Step 3

Toss wings in BBQ sauce or brush on during the last few minutes of grilling for a sticky glaze.
