ingredients
- 6 slices Sourdough Bread/ 9 pcs Regular Bread
- 2 tablespoon Custard Powder
- 3 tablespoon Sugar
- 2 1/2 cups Milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
- 2 pieces Clove
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 tablespoon Raisins
- 1 tablespoon Pine Nuts
- 10 pieces Cherries, Pitted and Halved
- 1 1/2 tablespoon Butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Lemon Zest
Method
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180 C. take an oven proof casserole and butter it generously with half the butter
Step 2
Butter the toast generously and cut it into cubes and keep aside
Step 3
Mix the vanilla custard powder with 2-3 tbsp milk until there are no lumps
Step 4
Heat the remaining milk on medium flame with sugar cloves cinnamon powder and vanilla extract
Step 5
Once it slightly hot add the custard powder and keep stirring for a min. Once the mixture thickens turn off the gas, add lemon zest and keep aside
Step 6
Place the bread cubes in the casserole Sprinkle the raisins and cherries
Step 7
Pour the custard mixture and garnish with pine nuts
Step 8
Bake for 30 minutes at 180 C or until the top turns golden brown
Step 9
Once done remove from the oven. Let it cool down slightly and serve
