RECIPE:
Mix the following in a large bowl:
1 ½ pounds of ground turkey (dark meat) *
20 basil leaves thinly sliced
3 cloves of garlic minced/crushed
1” of fresh ginger, grated
2-3 Serrano peppers (depending on your affinity for kick)
1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
3 green onions thinly sliced
3 tsp coconut aminos
1 tsp fish sauce
Salt and Pepper
Then…
-Add @lacroixwater to the mixture 1 tablespoon at a time.
For the 1 ½ pounds of meat, 2-3 tbsp will suffice in making light but firmly textured boulettes.
-Mix in almond flour 1 tablespoon at a time as needed to balance the wet/dry ratio.
Bake, or pan fry. *Feel free to use pork.

Mix 2 freshly crushed garlic cloves into 3 Tbsp of olive oil with 1 tsp paprika, 2 tsp of cumin, salt and pepper to taste. Brush both sides of 3 sliced Chinese eggplants with the mixture. Roast them in a single layer at 450- for 10 minutes, flip them, and turn the heat up to broil for a carefully monitored 3-5 minutes until they are browned and soft and delicious. # I top with cilantro, parsley or (my favorite) both but this time I used these gorgeous edible flowers from @earthworker_farm. Always finish with a spritz of fresh lemon. #earthday2017

Nurture and nourish yourself through the beauty in the broth. The brothsicles make this nutrient dense practice a breeze. #cookbycolor #bonebroth # Love my broth everyday- sometimes to sip, sometimes as a little soup. They are wonderful to use to deglaze a pan, or impart flavor on quickly sautéed vegetables. # In my 8 Qt Instant pot- I use 2 pounds of chicken feet, and one whole chicken carcass. 2 carrots, 2 stalks of celery, 1 chopped onion, a handful of dried porcini mushrooms, a Tbsp of fish sauce, about an inch of fresh turmeric, and a whole clove of previously roasted garlic. Cook under pressure for two hours, or overnight. Use a fine mesh strainer- and pour that golden broth into ice cube trays. # Artistic inspiration from good friend @c.r.a.v.i.n.g.s- queen of the dark. Avocado in bone broth originally inspired by @shutthekaleup. # I will always top my broth with cilantro, parsley, or whatever fresh herbs I have. As Jeanette would say- 'it's lit!'

It can be that simple. # While my clients loooove their fridge packed like this...I prefer to prepare food everyday. I'll cook protein, carb and fat for dinner each night- and have enough to pack us breakfast and lunches for the following day. # It’s all about personal preference. What will make YOU successful? I won Wednesday with pizza sauce, caramelized onions (thank you meal prep) goat milk cheese, and fresh basil on top of deliciously roasted eggplant. #cookbycolor # Preheat oven to 475. Use Chinese eggplant. Trruuussst me on that. Cut in half, then in half lengthwise. Salt, pepper, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and toss to coat. # Face the eggplants cut side down onto a sheet pan and put into the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven- turn on the broiler- and flip them over. Put back in to brown the tops for 2 minutes. # Top with sauce, cheese and any other already cooked toppings - and put back under broiler for 1-2 minutes, checking to ensure you don't burn them! Top with basil. Eat!

Wash the spears, snap off woody ends, Toss them with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil, pink sea salt and pepper to taste. Under the broiler for 4 minutes- turn them around and amp up to broil at 500 for another minute or two. A little char, perfectly cooked without any mush. #nomushyvegetables. #mealprep
