ingredients
- 1 chicken breast
- 1/2 Salt
- 1/4 Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 1/2 cups orzo
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 2 tablespoons chopped shallot
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 16 ounces chicken broth
- 1/3 cup cream
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup parmesan
Method
Step 1
Prepare the chicken. Pat it dry, then by season with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Bring a pan to medium heat. Sear it on both sides. This will take 5-8 minutes on each side, depending on the size of the chicken breast. Once cooked through, set aside.
Step 3
To your pan, add shallots and garlic. Add white wine to deglaze the pan.
Step 4
Add the chicken broth and the orzo. Stir to combine. Let simmer for 8 minutes, or until the orzo is tender.
Step 5
Once the orzo is cooked, stir in heavy cream, lemon juice, and parmesan cheese.
Step 6
Garnish with fresh parsley to serve.
