Butternut Squash And Red Lentil Soup With Garlic & Thyme

medium butternut squash, 1/2 cup red lentils, 1 medium yellow onion, 4 cups of water, garlic, fresh thyme a couple of star anise stars(they are adding that special taste to the broth, don't forget to remove before blending), saute onion until slightly golden, add lentils and squash, saute for another 30 seconds or so, add water and cook until squash is soft and lentils are done, blend, garnish with roasted nuts of your preference"
