Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups pretzel crumbs or 3 cups of mini pretzels finely processed in a food processor
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup Nutella®

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9” pie plate with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a bowl, mix the pretzel crumbs, melted butter and sugar until the mixture resembles a wet sand.

  • Step 3

    Evenly spread the pretzel mixture into the prepared pan. use the back of a spoon to press it to the bottom and ½” into the sides of the pie plate.

  • Step 4

    Place the crust into the oven and bake for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely.

  • Step 5

    While the crust is cooling; In a large bowl add the Nutella®. Place the heavy cream into a small saucepan. On low heat, bring to a simmer. Pour heated cream over the Nutella® and use a whisk to fully incorporate. Place into the refrigerator for 2 hours or until it is completely cool.

  • Step 6

    When the heavy cream is completely cool, place it in a bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whip on high, 5-8 mins, until the Nutella® cream is thick and stable, do not over whip.

  • Step 7

    Spread the Nutella® cream evenly into the cooled pretzel crust. Refrigerate for 6 hours before serving.
