ingredients

  • 3 1/2 pounds sweet potatoes
  • 10-20 cloves garlic
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 heaping tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated asiago

For the Garlic Butter Drizzle

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

Method

  • Step 1

    Peel, cut, and wash your potatoes.

  • Step 2

    Add your potatoes and whole garlic cloves to a pot of water - bring to a boil. Continue to boil until fork tender (about 10-15 minutes).

  • Step 3

    Drain your potatoes and add in all of your ingredients. (Mash your garlic with your potatoes, don’t remove them).

  • Step 4

    Now, with mashed potatoes the measurements are just suggestions honestly lol. It’s all about taste - start off with the measurements I give you and add a little more of any ingredient you’d like until you are satisfied with the taste!! You’re cooking for you - make it taste how you’d like it to taste, have fun with it!!

  • Step 5

    Mash your potatoes until your happy with the consistency- if you like extremely smooth mashed potatoes use an immersion blender!

  • Step 6

    Plate your mashed potatoes. Melt some butter & mix in a little garlic powder and top your mashed potatoes with it. I added parsley (but I prefer scallions! I just didn’t have any.
