While I love a fun and festive cocktail as good as the next gal I also love making a cocktail beneficial! The addition of bitters and honey in my Moonshine & Sage Cocktail is wonderful for digestion. Depending on the bitters used it can also impart many other health benefits!"
Moonshine and Sage Cocktail

For the Sage Honey Simple Syrup
- 1/ 2 cup honey
- 10-12 leaves fresh sage
For the Cocktail
- 2 ounces moonshine
- dash bitters
- 3 tablespoons Sage Honey Simple Syrup, recipe below
- 1 sprig fresh sage
To make the simple syrup: Combine 1 cup water, honey and sage in a pot over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low and simmer for 3 minutes. Turn off the heat and let syrup cool.
Fill glasses with ice. Pour moonshine, bitters, and simple syrup over the ice. Garnish with fresh sage. Add more honey if not sweet enough.
