ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon all spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup water

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350. Spray a bundt pan with nonstick spray.

  • Step 2

    Use a hand mixer to beat the sugar and butter, add one egg at a time, then stir in molasses.

  • Step 3

    In a separate bowl combine the flour, spices, salt, baking soda and powder. Add 1/2 cup of dry ingredients at a time to the batter, followed by 1/4 cup of water, repeat until it’s all combined.

  • Step 4

    Pour into the bundt mold (I like silicon!) and bake for 50-55 minutes or until you can stick in a toothpick and cleanly pull it out. Let cool a few hours before popping it out of the mold.
