ingredients
- 1 pound tvorog (farmer's cheese)
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- to taste cinnamon (optional)
- to taste nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- for cooking sunflower oil
Method
Step 1
Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, and cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) in a large bowl.
Step 2
Add the tvorog, vanilla extract, and eggs, then combine thoroughly. The pancake batter should be very thick and sticky, similar to dough.
Step 3
Coat the bottom of a frying pan with sunflower oil. Shape the batter into thick rounds using generous spoonfuls. Cook on medium heat until golden brown.
Step 4
Pat pancakes with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve warm with sour cream, fruit preserves, or whatever you please.
