pesto puff pastry sticks - I always serve these together with soups, stews, tapas or appetizers - you can make them with all kinds of pesto, purée, olives, fresh vegetables, herbs or spices. ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 3 tablespoons green pesto
- 100 grams shredded cheese (plant-based if vegan)
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tablespoons plant butter, melted
- Sesame seeds, to garnish
Method
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Step 2
Place a sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface. Spread the pesto on top of the puff pastry. Top with shredded cheese, salt and pepper. Using a rolling pin, roll the mixture. Layer with an additional sheet of puff pastry.
Step 3
Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into long strips that are approximately 1 inch thick.
Step 4
Arrange the strips on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
