- 1 teaspoon Jade Leaf Matcha
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
ingredients
For the Icing
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- Milk, as needed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon Jade Leaf Matcha
Method
To make the dough
Step 1
Combine the milk and butter and heat for about 30 seconds in the microwave, and then at 10-second intervals after, until the butter is melted. You want it to be warm, not hot (110˚ or less if you have a food thermometer). You can let it chill for a few minutes if needed.
Step 2
Whisk the yeast into the butter and milk mixture, and then combine with all dry ingredients. Using a mixer or your hands, knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and squishy. Let sit for 30 minutes.
To make the filling
Step 1
While the dough sits, prepare your filling by mixing together all filling ingredients. You can use a fork if your butter is very soft, or a mixer if needed.
Step 2
After 30 minutes, roll out the dough into a rectangle, and evenly spread out the filling. Slice into strips (approximately 5-6 strips, 2 inches or so wide).
Step 3
Roll up each strip into a bun and place in a greased pan. Let the dough rest and rise for 1-2 hours.
Step 4
Bake at 350˚ for 30 minutes, and then set aside to cool for a few minutes while you make the icing. For the icing, just add all ingredients to a mixer and beat to combine.
Step 5
Add a generous drizzle over the bun and enjoy!
